Stew & Heidi Engage The Community

A lively discussion on Broadway, music and art took place this past Saturday in the Paramount Lobby Bar with Stew and Heidi, in town as a part of the Stew & The Negro Problem shows at The Triple Door. This free event was led by STG’s Jason Ferguson as a companion to their performances at The Triple Door.

Their original work, Passing Strange, won the 2008 Tony Award. Spike Lee then directed the film version, which was featured on PBS and at the Sundance Film Festival.

The Seattle community was especially engaged when Saturday's discussion turned to the future of Broadway with rock music and song cycles. We hope there’s more creative endeavors to come from Stew & Heidi...thanks very much to them for spending extra time with our community while they were in town!

Kate Becker, STG Is Proud Of You!

Our current Development Director, Kate Becker, works with her department at STG to help raise money for all of our non-profit endeavors - from updating our Paramount Theatre sign to raising money to help fund our education programs, and beyond.

But from 1992 to 2002, she helped run the Old Fire House Teen Center in Redmond, a place for kids to see live music and be themselves. It was the kind of place that left a big impact on those who spent time there, and this past weekend, The Seattle Times ran a great article about it all. You can read it here!
