BAP Begins...

STG’s partnership with the YMCA Black Achievers Program (BAP) got off to a bangin’ start last weekend. The Massive Monkees kicked things off in style with a break-dance workshop that had the students full out battling by the end.

Then we all took to the drums for a workshop with Seattle Kokon Taiko. So. Much. Fun.

We are excited for another year working with these wonderful, creative young people.

Find out more about the BAP/STG partnership here.

Forty-Three Years Later...

Today in 1967, HAIR officially opened at the new (yet still under construction) off-Broadway Public Theater. It was the Public’s first non-Shakespeare offering, and the counter-culture message opened up a new audience for the up and coming young theatre company.

HAIR’s national tour started yesterday in Washington DC with a rave review from the Washington Post!

See HAIR at The Paramount November 28 through December 4th - tickets are on sale now.

New Bear Hands Record

New York's Bear Hands will release their debut album three years after emerging with an extremely popular EP. It hits stores next Tuesday, but you can hear it all now over on Spin.

Bear Hands will be at Seattle's Crocodile on November 21st, with Black Whales and Rumspringa. Tickets are on sale now!

STOMP at Il Fornaio

A few cast members from STOMP are in town early, helping us promote their show at The Paramount Theatre November 9 through 14! Today they were all over Seattle, visiting KMPS, New Day Northwest, the downtown Seattle Public Library, and even the kitchen at Il Fornaio in Pacific Place! Check out some video from the kitchen below:

Catch these guys at the Woodland Park Zoo tomorrow, in the Zoomazium from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. Kids will get to make rainsticks and STOMP will perform an interactive rhythm piece with the audience!

For more information and to get tickets to the show in just over a week at The Paramount, click here.

This Past Saturday...

Rainn Wilson - what a cool guy!

He brought his service-minded comedy spirit to The Paramount Theatre this past Saturday with a free talk for students and community members about what service means to him and why it’s important. He brought the audience on stage to help him out during the talk, took pictures of his fans and signed books and t-shirts after.

Thanks very much to Rainn, not only for taking time to chat with our community, but also for the show that happened later that evening. See more photos from past Saturday's events in our Group pool on Flickr.
