Mark Morris, accomplished choreographer and Seattle native, is bringing his dance group for a return engagement with the Seattle Symphony at The Paramount Theatre May 21 - 23 (more info here). In anticipation of his visit, he sent along some of his very favorite things about Seattle:

STG Young Artists in NYC

The Garfield Jazz Ensemble, led by Clarence Acox and featured recently at The Paramount in Hot Java Cool Jazz, won 1st place in the Jazz at Lincoln Center Essentially Ellington contest. Evan Shay from Garfield won Best National Alto Sax Player. He was a featured performer in the 2008 More Music @ The Moore & DANCE This performances.

Featured dancers in the Tony-nominated Broadway show “FELA” are DANCE This alums Danny Soto (also Asst. Dance Captain) and Ryan Rankine, both from Creative Outlet Dance Theatre of Brooklyn, led by Jamel Gaines.

Broken Social Scene!
