During the Rockettes September 2009 visit to Seattle, KOMO TV’s Sabra Gertsch met up with Amber Cameron at her childhood dance school. Amber is a native of Mercer Island and took most of her dance instruction at Mercer Art Dance where she, along with her childhood instructor, Camille Chrysler showed off a few moves for KOMO!

We just spent the past two days in our partner elementary schools, Dearborn Park Elementary and Van Asselt Elementary, doing African song and dance residencies with teaching artists Siya Manyakanyaka Kelley and Etienne Cakpo. Before long, the students were moving and grooving to the African beats.
In conjunction with the residencies, students from both schools will be coming to Global Dance Party at The Moore Theatre on December 4th. They were all bubbling with excitement when they heard that Siya herself would be performing in the show!
