Kathy Griffin is super human. In a totally neurotic, mostly hilarious, Seattle-lovin’ way. “Where my gays at?” she gleefully shouted from the stage. Truth be told, she took big cheer-backs from straights and even a few courageous Republicans before launching her full-blown attack on Sarah Palin (biggest laughs). Her rapid fire celebrity gossip and relatable mother-daughter dysfunction is funny but can all be seen on her Bravo TV show in its fourth season. As with most live performance, one is forced to recognize the amazing level of energy output and skill required to captivate an audience of 2,800 people (5,600 eyeballs, presumably) for a solid 90+ minutes. Oh, and multiply everything by FOUR because that’s how many shows Super Griffin commanded at sold-out capacity in ONE SINGLE 53-hour period of time. Good for her and good for us all – who doesn’t need a big belly laugh now and again?
Favorite quote: “I love performing here – it’s just so amazingly gorgeous. It’s like, iconic, this theatre.”
